Why Not Now We postpone what deeply calls for our attention. We wait for the right time, when the mind is clear, the room is quiet, when life feels in order. But the perfect moment never comes. It shimmers on the horizon, a mirage of control, a comforting thought for the mind to rest on, while life continues its course, as we try to stay afloat. We chase readiness, believing that when everything is arrange just so, that will be the moment to begin. Yet beneath the planning, something trembles- a quiet knowing whispers, now is the time. Fear hides in the folds of our preparation. It disguises itself as discipline, as busyness, as procrastination. But the truth is simple: we are afraid to meet ourselves, bare and present, without a story, without the personal identity, without defense. Meditation asks nothing of us but to arrive. To sit as we are. To breathe and stay, still. Everything that follows unfolds from that single, honest breath.
